The Department of Radionuclide and Functional Diagnostics is the base of the Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians of the Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center, where postgraduate education and advanced training of cardiologists, therapists, radiologists and physicians of functional diagnostics are conducted.

Information for patients
- All studies are carried out by appointment
- After the introduction of the radiopharmaceutical and before the study, the patient must stay within the compartment in the “Waiting room”.
- During the research, it is necessary to disconnect mobile phones and strictly follow the recommendations of the department’s medical staff.
- After the end of the examination, the adult patient can lead a normal life, since for the study drugs are labeled with short-lived isotopes (technetium-99m) in small doses.
- During the day after the test, avoid close contact with pregnant women and children under 14 years of age.
- Within 24 hours after examination, exclude breastfeeding.
Preparation of patients for research
Scintigraphy of the thyroid and parathyroid glands
- Withdrawal of thyroid-stimulating, antiarrhythmic and iodine-containing drugs for 48 hours and more after agreement with the attending physician.
Angioorranscintigraphy
- Withdrawal of diuretics and hypotensive drugs for 24 hours after agreement with the attending physician.
- On the day of the study, a substanial breakfast is recommended.
Bone scintigraphy (osteoscintigraphy)
- Preparation is not required.
Scintigraphy of the liver (hepatography)
- The study is performed strictly on an empty stomach.
Lung scintigraphy (perfusion)
- Preparation is not required.
Breast scintigraphy
- Preparation is not required.
Radionuclide Tomography of the myocardium (scintigraphy of the myocardium)
- The study is performed strictly on an empty stomach.
- Withdrawal of β-blockers and prolonged nitrates for
24-48 hours after agreement with the attending physician.

How to reach us by using public transport
“Pervomaiskaya” metro station (last carriage of the train out of the city centre). From “Pervomaiskaya” metro station by any tram or trolley bus go to the stop “15th Parkovaya Street”.
